Client Preparedness Tips
Your time on the water is "your" time so please let me know any expectations you may have. If your expectation is to have a great time, I have a pretty good plan for that. A trip for great Instagram worthy selfies against the Chicago skyline, a 180 around the Chicago Lighthouse, and a trip through the "playpen" before returning to port usually does the trick.
What should I wear?
•The weather on Lake Michigan is ever changing. A wind breaker is often a good idea and in the early or late part of the sailing season an intermediate layer might be just the ticket to comfort.
•Soft sole, non-marking shoes or sandals only.
•If conditions and time warrant, a swim suit and a towel.
•Sun glasses, and a hat that you can keep attached to your head in windy conditions.
What should I bring?
•Sunscreen is a must! You may not think you need it, but even on a cloudy day those rays can get you.
Any food and or beverages you may desire. Food already prepared is the way to go. We often call it finger food. Examples might be, appetizers, sandwiches, fruit & veggies, sushi, etc.. We have a refrigerator aboard where we usually have ice as well. Yes, you are welcome to bring wine, beer and or other alcoholic spirits aboard however due to insurance regulations we are not allowed to serve you.
•If you have special concerns, please let your captain know in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
•Plates, stemware, and utensils are all aboard for your use.
General information?
•Please try and arrive at the boat 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time of departure. By being on time, you and your guests will have an opportunity to get comfortable with the layout of the boat, stow your personal items below in the cabin, as well as get a quick tour of the head (bathroom facilities on a boat), and the galley (kitchen on a boat). Yes, there is a toilet!
•Your captain will do his best to depart and return as per the charter duration.
•No smoking is allowed below decks in the cabin and may be allowed on decks at the captains discretion.
•If you are happy with the service that your captain provides, please let your captain know by offering a tip, customarily in the 15% to 20% range. Please also consider a review on YELP and other Social Media Platforms.
